I finished reading Half Blood Prince at about 2am Monday morning. I had to get it finished because working where I do I knew I was gonna hear someone tell me a spoiler and I didn't feel like going ape-shit at them - I've had a long tough week, heh.
- Dumbledore is dead!! Gah, I spent a large portion of the book convinced it would be Snape (due to the whole 'Unbreakable Vow' thing at the beginning). Then once Dumbledore and Harry went off to find the necklace I had a sinking feeling that he was for the chop.
- The Half-Blood Prince I worked out was Snape, it seemed pretty obvious after the made up spells.
- I felt like there wasn't much character development in this story, and the focus was clearly back-story on Voldemort - which was interesting. Horcruxes, awesome development.
- Hermione and Ron, just get together damnit.
- Inferi are scary, especially when read with only a bed side lamp and you're on your own. *shudders*
- I'm glad Grawp wasn't mentioned that much, that brought OOTP down for me so I'm glad J.K. didn't use him that much in this book.
And now predictions... my fandom isn't really up to scratch with HP as it is with BSB so if I state the obvious or come up with crap, I don't care damnit:
1) This has been mentioned before from some other readers, but I think that perhaps Dumbledore isn't really dead and that Snape and him switched using Polyjuice Potion. Its maybe wishful thinking but hey, it has some merits.
2) I think (and this could be a long shot) Harry is the final, unknown Horcrux. Therefore, to destroy Voldemort he has to destroy himself as well. Just something I pondered when I finished reading - and J.K. has repeatedly hinted at the fact that Harry may not survive by the end.
So there ends my review and predictions. So when does Book 7 come out again?...
And for BSB world, the boys are doing a spin off of Spinal Tap for their new music video. LMAO!!! They've shaved their facial hair, got eye makeup and are wearing Spandex, LMFAO!! Can't wait.
